Nissan Trucks

In 1935, Nihon Diesel Industries, Ltd, in Kawaguchi, Japan on the outskirts of Tokyo was established. The company started production of KD-series 2-cycle diesel engines later in 1940 production of 4.5-ton-payload TT6 series trucks was started. In the development of 7.5-ton-payload TN93 series trucks, which was largest payload capacity in the Japanese market then, and the first type BR3 series buses with rear-mounted engines.

This was the beginning of the now renowned UD trucks which is a subsidiary of both Nissan motors Japan and Volvo Ab which was earlier known as Nissan Diesel Motor company in the 1960`s the company initially produced heavy duty and compact truck engines for sales in japan.

The company was later acquired by Volvo in 2007 and then created its most selling models Condor and Atlas which are often compared with Toyota Dyna, Hino Ranger, Mitsubishi Fuso. The companies current name it self denotes the motto of the company and UD stands for ‘Ultimate Dependability’ which suggests how the well – built and dependable these trucks are. The heavy-duty design and large pay load make these trucks favourable for all business type and the powerful diesel engine by Nissan just add an extra spark to the operations of these trucks.

The company focuses on selling most of these trucks in Japan, Africa, South-Asia & Australia due to its high demand and easy manoeuvrability, the used market for these trucks is huge exporting anywhere about 200 or more units a year from japan to mainly Africa and other Asian nations.
