Isuzu Motors Ltd. is a Japanese commercial vehicles and diesel engine manufacturing company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

The company was founded by Yoshisuke Aikawa in 1916, as the Tokyo Gas Company, which in 1934 fused with the carmaker and was renamed Isuzu, after Isuzu River. Its principal activity is the production, distribution and sale of Isuzu commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Isuzu is famous for producing commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Isuzu-branded vehicles are sold in most commercial markets worldwide.

Isuzu Motors Limited began manufacturing diesel engines in 1936 at the company headquarters in Japan. Since then, much progress has been made. Isuzu engines can be found all over the world. Isuzu's production of medium and heavy-duty trucks (over GVM 6.1 tons) for fiscal 1988 was rated No.1 in the world.
