The Ford EcoSport (pronounced ek-ho sport) is a subcompact crossover SUV, originally built in Brazil by Ford Brazil since 2003, at the Camacari plant. The Ford EcoSport is available with three engine options: two petrol (1.5-litre Ti-VCT 123PS/150Nm and 1.0-litre EcoBoost 125PS/170Nm) and one diesel (1.5-litre TDCI 100PS/205Nm). The 1.5-litre petrol comes with the option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, the diesel comes standard with a 5-speed manual transmission.

First Generation (2004–2012): The first generation EcoSport was designed by the Ford-US Truck Vehicle Center (program code BV226) and was based on the Cologne-built European Fiesta and European Ford Fusion (not to be confused with the North American Fusion midsize sedan). The EcoSport gets features such as an 8- or 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear parking camera, auto projector headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs), rain-sensing wipers, sunroof, push-button start and paddle shifters (only on Titanium+ AT).

Second Generation (2013–present): The second generation of the EcoSport was developed under Ford's global product development process. It was based on the 2011 Ford Fiesta B2E platform and it was launched globally. The Ford EcoSport gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard across the range. Apart from these safety features, the top-spec variant is also equipped with side and curtain airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, emergency brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control and hill launch assist.
