Nissan Vanette is a cabover van marketed since 1978 by the Japanese Automaker Nissan. The first Vanette was exported as the Datsun C20 and Nissan Datsun Vanette. The van received the 1.2 L (1,171 cc) and 64 PS (47 kW) at the same engine speed. In 1979, a high roof version was added with the long wheel base, this was stretched by 33cm between the front and side doors. In 1981, Nissan Prairie was introduced with the sliding passengers doors on both side and conventional doors in front. The second generation (C22) was offered with the 2.4 liter Z24i engine into the C22 in order to handle American requirements such as air conditioning.
Nissan Caravan is a van built to use as a fleet or a cargo van since 1973. A Rebadged version of Caravan was sold as the Nissan Homy in between the years 1976 and 1997. The Caravan was sold as either Nissan Urvan, Nissan King Van and Nissan Homy, outside the Japan. The E20 series of caravan was available in the seating configurations of, three, five, seven and up to ten passengers. Caravan comes with the 1.5- and 2.0-liter petrol engines, as well as a 2.2-liter diesel unit. It gear shifter was available with the five manual transmission and was around 80cm long which was somewhat clumsy to shift.
