Kia Carnival is a minivan built by Kia Motors. The first generation model was manufactured and marketed differently for specific regions, including under a joint venture in the Chinese market with Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Company, as well as the Naza Ria in Malaysia. In Australia, the Kia Carnival went on sale in 1999, with a standard 5-speed manual and 2.5 L V6 producing 177 hp (132 kW). In Europe, the first generation was available only with the 2.5 Rover KV6 engine 24V petrol with 163PS and Euro 2 standard emission level and the 2,9 litres turbo diesel engine with 126 PS. In North America, the Sedona came equipped with a 3.5 L V6 engine making 195 hp (145 kW) and a 4-speed automatic.
Kia Carens is a mid-size MPV introduced in 1999. Kia debuted the first generation model of Carens, the RS series in May 1999. A facelift was issued in 2002. Available as a 5- or optional 7-passenger vehicle with either a standard 175 hp 2.4L 4-cylinder engine or an optional 192 hp 2.7L V6 engine in two trim levels. In Australia, it is only available as a 7-passenger vehicle with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and a choice of an automatic or manual transmission, depending on trim level. Kia debuted the third generation model of Carens, the RP series in 2012 at the Paris Motor Show. Sales began in March 2013 in South Korea.
