Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. is one of the oldest surviving Japanese internal combustion engine manufacturers who deals in the kei models and off road vehicles.Daihatsu released a cargo van and passenger wagon model named Delta Wide Van/Wagon in November 1976 (B10 series)—a rebadged Toyota TownAce. The second generation (B20 series) was released in November 1982 and was rebodied for January 1992, maintaining existing mechanicals. Third generation models (R40/R50 series) arrived in October 1996—now badged Delta Van/Wagon and continued on until November 2001.
The Daihatsu Compagno is an automobile with a three-door delivery van and a convertible. The first Compagno prototype was shown at the 1961 Tokyo Motor Show and was the Compagno Light Van light commercial vehicle (F30V). In February 1972 a new Van was presented, originally marketed as the "Slide Van" as it now featured sliding doors on both sides in addition to a top-hinged tailgate.In export trim, where it was sold as the Daihatsu 550 Cab and Cab-Van, this engine has 30 PS (22 kW) at 5,500 rpm, and 4.2 kg·m (41 N·m; 30 lb·ft) at 4,000 rpm. The 550 Van had an advantage of a higher carrying capacity than the 360 Van, at 350 rather than 300 kg.
The tenth generation Van/Microbus as well as the ninth and tenth generation truck have also been marketed in Japan by Toyota in Japan since December 2011. They are called Toyota Pixis Van and Truck respectively. As for the Hijet, they have the new KF engine of 660 cc.
