Volvo Trucks is a global truck manufacturer based in Gothenburg, Sweden, owned by AB Volvo. It is the world's second largest heavy-duty truck brand. Volvo Trucks ceased to be a separate company and was instead incorporated into Volvo Group Trucks, with Volvo’s other truck brands, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks and UD Trucks. The first Volvo truck rolled off the production lines in 1928, and in 2011 Volvo Trucks employed about 19,000 people around the world.
Volvo cabs are manufactured in the north of Sweden in Umeå and in Ghent, Belgium, while the engines are made in the central town of Skövde. Among some smaller facilities Volvo has assembly plants in Sweden, Belgium, USA, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, China, India and Russia. The first truck, the "Series 1", debuted in January 1928, as an immediate success and attracted attention outside the country.
Volvo FL, Volvo FE, Volvo FM, Volvo FH, Volvo FH16, Volvo FMX, Volvo VHD, Volvo VNL, Volvo VNM, Volvo VNX and Volvo VM are the different truck which are manufactured and marketed by volvo.
