The Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi manufactured the Mitsubishi Lancer since 1973, is a compact car. It has been sold as the Mitsubishi Galant Fortis in Japan since 2007. It was sold at a specific retail chain called Car Plaza in Japan. The name Lancer came from the term given to a soldier of cavalry regiment armed with a lance.

Suspensions are strut in front and torsion beam (for FF) or trailing arm (for 4WD) in rear. Safety devices are dual airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Brake System).
