The Mitsubishi Galant Fortis was a newer version of Mitsubishi Lancer series which is sold in Japan in 2007. There was also a similar version of the Sportswagon which was powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter GDI engine. As of 2009, this generation of Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan was still being sold alongside the newer 2007 era generation, which is known in the home market of Japan as the Galant Fortis.
With the exception of the New Lancer Evolution X, the Lancer was marketed as the Galant Fortis in the Japanese domestic market. It comes in three trim levels: Exceed, Super Exceed, and Sport.
The new Lancer was released on 15 September 2007 in Taiwan and has been named Mitsubishi Lancer Fortis. It is powered by a 4B11, 2.0- liter DOHC engine outputting 157 hp and the transmission was a six-speed version of the CVT. However, unlike other Lancer models in North America and Japan, Mitsubishi has changed the front and rear ends to make it look like a family car.
